Boldness and Fashion
Be bold with your fashion. Be confident in your choices, whatever they may be.
Fashion is a way of life for me. It is hard sometimes to refrain from a materialistic or superficial world when that is what the fashion world is. Everything is "who are you wearing?" or "how much was that?", and without even knowing we are in a world that compares what we are wearing with others. When it comes to fashion, we can't compare. For the longest time I did not want to buy the necklace that I am wearing in this because it is a huge statement. I realized then I was comparing my fashion to others and trying to justify not being something that I loved because I was too worried at what others thought. Guys if you are reading this know that this is a typical girl's thought process for just about everything! Girls, you know that this is true. I finally just decided to buy it after seeing it for almost a year, and I said this is a statement I am going to make and I love this necklace. Thankfully it was accepted well towards people, but I had so many insecurities. After I started pushing past these insecurities and wearing what I thought looked good on me and was in style, i started feeling more comfortable in my own skin.
When someone says "I can't pull that off" or "only she/he can wear that and look good", I think that is a lie we tell ourselves. There are certain colors or shapes that we should not wear due to body type or skin color, but overall I think a lot of people are crippled by this thought that they can't pull something off. My goal this year is to make bold statements with my fashion like white pants after labor day or huge necklaces that hurt my neck after a long day of wearing it. The story of boldness and fashion is what I wanted to share with you today and encourage you to be bold as well!
