As much as I want to say that I am flawless, I am not. I am not perfect or without flaw, but nobody is. My lovely roommate, Jessica Watchie, gave this giving key to me that made me cry. She knows my love of Beyonce and how she is a model on how I want to live my life. Jess said I embody Beyonce and a flaw I have is being too hard on myself, so she wants me to believe that I can be Flawless, like the Yonce. In my life, I have battled with insecurity and validation of being seen by others. I have battled, sacrificed, and strived to do what I could to be “good enough” for everyone else, neglecting uniqueness of myself in a battle to be everyone else. In December 2015, I was given this key as a gift from my roommate and with it a simple note contained in the box: “You are seen & loved by God & others. I love you J." It wasn’t in my desperate trying that I was seen, but in my being. It’s was the simplicity of who I am that God seeks and sees me. Genesis 16:13 is a simple truth from the broken women, “You are the God who sees me,” and it was in this passage that I found peace in the midst of chaos.
